New Chamber Director

Brittney Walton
Brittany Walton

The Wyandot Chamber of Commerce has named Brittney Walton of Upper Sandusky its new executive director.

In this role, Brittney will oversee the strategic direction, growth and overall operations of the Chamber by collaborating with stakeholders, advocating for the interests of Chamber members and driving initiatives that result in economic prosperity and community engagement.

“At a quick glance, one could look at my resume and ask why someone who has spent 20 plus years as a nurse applied for an executive director role,” Brittney noted. “The bottom-line answer is passion. I have a passion for people. I have a passion for the community; and through my activities outside of my work life, I’ve found a great passion for publicity, marketing and public relations.”

Brittney currently serves as the vice president of the Upper Sandusky Athletic Boosters and is a trustee-executive board member with the Booster’s Capital Sponsorship Division. She is also a board member and expansion trustee at St. Peter’s Catholic School. In these volunteer positions, she has gained skills in relationship building, event planning, public speaking, leadership and strategic development; and has proven experience in identifying and analyzing challenges while developing and implementing innovative solutions.

Brittney has worked for Davita Dialysis at Mt. Carmel East Hospital in Columbus since 2018 as a Licensed Practical Nurse responsible for the clinical care of chronic and acute dialysis patients. She earned her LPN certification at Owens Community College in Findlay.

Wyandot Chamber of Commerce Board President Sue Baker said Brittney’s unique skillset and community service experience made her a good fit for the director’s job.

“Brittney has demonstrated she is a highly driven team builder who has led in times of change and implemented strategic direction,” Sue explained.

“Most of my career and most of my life I have spent in service to others, whether it be as a bedside nurse, as a mother or in a leadership role in one of the many organizations for which I have volunteered,” Brittney stated. “It is the unpaid projects I have been a part of that has led me to realize I have another side of caring for people aside from a medical profession … and now I can tie those two together because the same things I am passionate about in nursing are the same things I am passionate about outside of it. Bridging those together for the people of Wyandot County enables me to care for others on an all-encompassing level.

Sue reported Brittney will start at the Chamber later in April.

The Wyandot Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to promoting, supporting and guiding the businesses and communities of all of Wyandot County with extensive opportunities for promotion, cost savings, education and networking.
