The City of Upper Sandusky is the county seat of Wyandot County, Ohio, which is located along the Sandusky River. The population was 6,596 at the 2010 census. The City takes its name from an earlier Wyandot indian village of the same name, which was located nearby. Upper Sandusky is rich in history. It was named “Upper” because it is located on the upper reaches of the Sandusky River.

The citizens of Upper Sandusky take pride in the fact that we have a small town, friendly atmosphere & that we welcome growth in the areas of industry, technology & recreation at the same time.

The future of Upper Sandusky is bright, & we are excited by the many possibilities. Businesses, property owners, tenants, residents and officials all work together to enhance & strengthen our city. We firmly believe that we have the most competent and hardworking workforce in the state of Ohio. The people of Upper Sandusky know what it it is like to put in a hard day’s work & to not quit until the job is finished.

Upper Sandusky is business friendly & provides convenient access to the highway systems. We are centrally located at the intersection of two major U.S. Routes -- US Route 23 & US Route 30. We recognize the critical need for direct open communications between the different agencies & the importance of encouraging the professional, commercial, retail & industrial sectors to continue to invest and reinvest in Upper Sandusky’s future.
